Donor Today

Personal donor cabinets for blood centers

Help donors give again.

Donor Today gives each of your donors a page of their own: every donation they have made, the milestones they have reached, and an easy way to book the next appointment. Your center’s name sits at the top, so they know who is inviting them back.

Why Donor Today

Once is a gift. Again is a relationship. Donor Today helps blood centers give every donor a personal reason and an easy path back: their own history, recognized, and the next appointment within reach.

01 The personal cabinet

A page that belongs to one donor.

Every donor receives a unique link to their own cabinet, built from the donor, donation, and appointment data your center exports. It shows them what they have given, recognizes it, and makes the next step obvious.

  1. Your center, by name

The cabinet opens with your blood center’s name, so a donor knows exactly who invited them back.

  2. A first name, nothing more

Donors are greeted by first name. No surname and no other sensitive information appears on the page.

  3. Every donation, counted

How many times they have donated, at a glance.

  4. Badges and achievements

The milestones they have reached, so their contribution is recognized, not just recorded.

  5. Their donation history

Each donation in order, all in one place.

  6. The next appointment

A clear way to book, whichever booking approach your center provides.

02 How it works

From a message to the next appointment.

Four steps, from the records your center already keeps to a donor choosing their next visit.

  1. 01

    Your data goes in

Your center exports donor, donation, and appointment data to the service. That is what every cabinet is built from.

  2. 02

    A message with a link

Each donor receives a message carrying a unique link to their own cabinet, sent through the donor messaging service Implemented.Today helps develop.

  3. 03

    A cabinet of their own

The link opens their personal cabinet: their donation history, how many times they have given, and the badges they have earned.

  4. 04

    The next appointment

From the cabinet, they can book their next appointment, in whichever way your center supports.

03 Templates and conditions

Different donors. Different reasons to return.

Cabinets are built from templates, and a template is a whole design, not just its words. Your center decides which template each donor sees, based on conditions such as age group or donation count, so a first-time donor, a long-time regular, and a younger donor can each get an experience suited to them.

Choose a donor Illustrative

Conditions choose the template. The cabinet itself still shows only a first name and donation history.

Illustrative cabinet for Ana, first-time donor, Welcome template, Classic design: Your Blood Center. Thank you, Ana. 1 donation in September 2026. About 0.5 liters of blood given, up to 3 patients helped. Badges earned: First gift. Button: Book your second donation.

Illustrative cabinet for Tomas, long-time regular, Regulars template, Milestone design: Your Blood Center. Twenty-four, Tomas. 24 donations since 2012. Badges earned: Ten donations, Twenty donations, Ten years. 25th donation reward, 1 to go: T-shirt, Cap, Backpack; Backpack chosen. Button: Book your 25th donation.

Illustrative cabinet for Mia, younger donor, Starting out template, Bright design: Your Blood Center. You came back, Mia. 2 donations since 2025. This week: Summer travel means fewer donors, and hospitals still need blood every day. Badges earned: First gift, Came back. Button: Pick your next time.

04 Reasons to return

More reasons to come back.

A cabinet can do more than keep a record. It can show donors what their giving adds up to, what is happening right now, and the reward they are working towards.

Rewards

Rewards donors choose themselves

Set milestones, such as a T-shirt at the 10th donation. Upload your own designs, and let each donor pick the one they want. Every cabinet shows how close the next reward is.

Maya’s 10th donation is 3 visits away. Maya picks:

  1. 5 Cap or T-shirt
  2. 10 T-shirt, cap, or backpack
  3. 25 Backpack

Our partners can help you choose the items, produce them with your logo, and deliver them.

Impact

What their giving adds up to

Worked out from each donor’s own record, never invented: the blood they have given, and the patients it can help.

3.3 liters of blood given

up to 21 patients helped

About 0.47 liters, one pint, per whole blood donation, and up to 3 patients per donation. Your center sets the figures its donors see.

“Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.”

News

Always up to date

Donor Today follows the news for events that affect the blood supply, such as storms and emergencies, and suggests timely messages for your cabinets. Your center decides what appears.

Encouraging messages come from a library grouped by age group, donation count, and what your records say about each donor. They are tested across blood centers, so the ones that bring donors back are the ones that get used.

  • Age 25 to 44

05 Your admin panel

Your center decides what every donor sees.

Each blood center has its own admin panel. Choose which pages, templates, and conditions your donors see, put your name on every cabinet, and run it on a donor.today link or on your own subdomain.

Type your center’s name. Every cabinet on this page follows.

06 Booking

Three ways to book. Use the one that fits.

Donors can book their next appointment right from the cabinet. How that works depends on what your center provides, so no center has to adopt a single booking method to use Donor Today.

Your center’s own booking tool appears inside the cabinet, so donors book without leaving their page.

For centers whose booking tool can be embedded

Share your appointment slots, and Donor Today shows donors a booking view built from them.

07 A/B testing

Let your donors show you what works.

Run several templates in parallel as A/B tests, and learn which experiences encourage your donors to return. A template is a whole design, so a test can compare far more than wording: a calm, card-by-card cabinet against a dark one that leads with progress.

What a template can change

  • Layout
  • Colors and look
  • What comes first
  • How progress is shown
  • Tone of voice
  • The booking prompt

Design a template for one generation of donors, or make one for your center alone.

There are no results on this page, on purpose. Every center’s donors are different, so the answers come from your own tests.

08 The foundation

Built on the messages you already send.

Implemented.Today helps develop the donor messaging service that sends appointment reminders and recruitment messages for blood centers. Donor Today builds on that work: the link in a message can now open a page that belongs to the donor.

09 Push notifications Planned

The same reminder, without the SMS.

We are planning to let donors turn on notifications right from their cabinet. Appointment reminders, recruitment messages, and follow-ups can then reach them as push notifications instead of text messages.

  1. Donors opt in

They turn notifications on from their cabinet, and their browser asks for permission. They can turn them off at any time.

  2. You send, Donor Today reports back

Your systems send through a Donor Today API, and learn for each message whether it reached the donor’s device and whether it was opened.

  3. SMS stays the fallback

When a message can’t go by push, you’re told, and it goes out by SMS or whichever channel you use today.

Every message delivered by push is one text message your center doesn’t have to send.

10 Questions

Plain answers.

What operations and donor teams usually ask first.

What does a donor see in their cabinet?

Your center’s name, their first name, their donation history, how many times they have donated, the badges or achievements they have earned, and a way to book their next appointment. The cabinet deliberately shows no surname and no other sensitive information.

What does our center need to provide?

Your center exports donor, donation, and appointment data to the service. Each donor then receives a unique link to their own cabinet.

How do donors reach their cabinet?

Through a unique link in a message. Implemented.Today helps develop the donor messaging service that sends appointment reminders and recruitment messages for blood centers, and Donor Today gives those messages a personal page to lead to.

Do we have to change how donors book?

No single method is required. Booking can be a link to your own booking page, your own booking tool embedded in the cabinet, or a Donor Today booking view built from appointment slots you share. It depends on what your center provides.

Can different donors see different things?

Yes, and not only in wording. Cabinets are built from templates, and a template sets the whole design: layout, look, what comes first, and how progress is shown. Your center decides which template each donor sees based on conditions such as age group or donation count, so a first-time donor, a long-time regular, and a younger donor can each get an experience suited to them.

How do we find out what works?

Run several templates in parallel as A/B tests, comparing whole designs as well as wording, and learn which experiences encourage your donors to return.

Can the cabinet use our own web address?

Yes. You can use a donor.today link or run the cabinet on your own subdomain. Either way, the donor sees your center’s name.

Can we offer rewards, like a T-shirt at the 10th donation?

Yes. Set the milestones and upload your own designs, and donors choose the item they want, such as a T-shirt, a cap, or a backpack. Each cabinet shows how close the next reward is. Our partners can help you choose the items, produce them with your logo, and deliver them.

Where do the impact figures and news come from?

Impact figures are worked out from each donor’s own record, using figures your center chooses, such as how much blood a donation is and how many patients it can help. Donor Today follows the news for events that affect the blood supply and suggests timely messages; your center decides what appears.

Will donors be able to get messages as push notifications instead of SMS?

That is planned. Donors would turn on notifications from their cabinet, and your systems would send messages through a Donor Today API that reports whether each one reached the donor’s device. Anything that isn’t delivered by push, you send by SMS or your usual channel, as you do today.
